The 'Retired and Senior Volunteer Programme' was set up in 1988 by Community Service Volunteers to enable older people to feel valued and to enjoy life by becoming active in their community.

Across the U.K. thousands of RSVP volunteers take part in a huge range of activities

In Barnet and Outer London, we do the following:

• Help school children with their reading
• Social activities for isolated and older people
• Knit blankets and clothing for children in this country and abroad
• Develop volunteering opportunities for disabled people
• Do telephone befriending and telephone book clubs
• Provide assistance together with other charities
