Some possible activities ...
These pages give you an idea of some of the things our volunteers are doing. They are just examples of the possibilities - please don't think you are limited to just these activities.
- We have over forty volunteers helping the patients, and with adminstration, at Finchley Memorial Hospital (FMH).
- We have two knitting groupsone of which meets every other Friday at the Wesley Hall, Stapylton Road, and the other works from home, making a range of garments, blankets, toys and Trauma Teddies both for local communities and for those in need abroad.
- We are in partnership with Disability Action in the Borough of Barnet (DabB) promoting volunteering opportunities by disabled people in Barnet.
- Working with the Sri Sathya Sai Service Organisation, we help provide about thirty homeless people with a meal every Sunday.
- Many of our volunteers help in local schools - some have even become school governors!
- Several times a year we take housebound people on outings.
- We are currently setting up a network to befriend the isolated, lonely, friendless and the vulnerable, initially by telephone, and we have already started a book club, using telephone conferencing.
- and many other activities ... there's something for everyone.
