Meet our volunteers

Bill Ibbotson

Bill joined RSVP in 1992 as its first volunteer in Barnet and is now Regional Co-Ordinator for Outer London North with over 500 volunteers. His aim is to run a "Volunteer Friendly" organisation that is open to everyone and is not only fun to belong to but is also making a significant contribution back into the community.

Peter Hewitt

Peter has been a member of Barnet RSVP for 10 years and although he is a wheelchair user he is a very enthusiastic organiser at Finchley Memorial Hospital where he volunteers two days a week.

Mandy Francis

Mandy runs a group of knitters who meet fortnightly in the Wesley Hall in Barnet, making clothes, blankets and toys for local needs and for worldwide disasters and tragedies.

Indra Narendran

Indra joined us seven years ago and started doing volunteer work at Homeless Action Barnet. Indra realised that there were no local refuges open for the Homeless at weekends and Bank Holidays and set up our Stepping Stones project together with Bill Ibbotson. Indra was in sole charge for the first four years and is responsible for it being so successful.

Clarice Poulter

Clarice is in charge of our group of knitters who are housebound and unable to come to Mandy's fortnightly meetings in the Wesley Hall. They knit for people who are homeless, premature babies, for global disasters and wherever there is a genuine need.

Barbara Davis

Barbara joined us in 2006 after hearing about us from her friend Judith Cohen who is an RSVP organiser in Totnes in Devon. Barbara is in charge of our "Teleconferencing Book Club" for people who are housebound, isolated and vulnerable. Every month the members receive the selected book and at the end of the month they are all connected to a teleconference to discuss the book.

Barbara is a member of our "Management Committee"

Joy Wyndham

JOY WYNDHAM

Joy is the editor of our monthly newsletter as well as having a wide interest and involvement in many of our activities. Joy was the Bursar at Queen Elizabeth's Girls' School in Barnet for many years and heads up all of our school projects

Joy is a member of our management committee and a trustee of the "RSVP Outer London North" Charity

Poh Teen Schooling

Poh Teen Schooling

Poh Teen was formerly a computer software programmer and looks after our IT projects as well as being an organiser in our partnership project with Finchley Memorial Hospital. Poh Teen has set up our data base and keeps it up to date

Helen Stack

Helen works full time as a charity fund raiser and was responsible for our 2 successful lottery bids. Helen helps at our Stepping Stones project which provides free 3 course meals for the homeless when all other refuges are closed. Helen has run a sponsored half marathon to raise funding for this project and is a trustee of our RSVP Outer London North Charity no 1122265

Mike Christie

Mike joined us in early 2009 and works with Poh Teen Schooling as the joint manager of our Finchley Memorial Hospital project

Denise Wilkinson

Denise retired as National Director of RSVP at the end of 2008 and decided to spend part of her retirement as a humble volunteer. As Denise lives in Muswell Hill she naturally gravitated to our group in Barnet where she is invaluable as an organiser of absolutely everything and has made an enormous contribution in the short time that she has been with us.

Seema Chopra

Seema is our only paid member of staff and although her prime responsibility is being in charge of our "Active Volunteering by Disabled People" project she has overall responsibility for the coordination and maintainance of all our other projects, maintains control of our busy office with the help of a team of volunteers and keeps our 600+ volunteers informed of our activities.
